A VISION OF FIRE OVER CALIFORNIA

I had this vision in October 1997 and I feel prompted to send it out again as the Holy Spirit is moving greatly in exactly the same area of my vision.

I was flying from Miami to San Francisco where I was scheduled to minister. It came to me as we were flying past the Rocky Mountains. I shared it with some of the churches in the area when I was ministering there, but I want to share it again with you all because now, ten years after, things seem to be precipitating into the fulfillment. It also implies not only a vision but brings along a burden of intercessory prayer for revival.

I saw a place like open field area. It was full of people. There were thousands, and although at some point I risked puting a figure, I realize now that it is impossible; I can only say that there were many, many thousands of people. I saw those massive crowds of people in one accord lifting their hands to heaven and praising the name of Jesus. There was some kind of tent over the whole crowd but no walls. On a closer look I realized that the “tent” was rather like a canopy that was suspended over the crowd but it was not supported by any pillar or pole from below it was like “hanging” from above!

That place was somewhere across the bay of San Francisco. It was not in the city of San Francisco, but people from that city were running across the bay to join the crowd in praising Jesus. The Lord told me that San Francisco will experience a mighty move of the Holy Spirit but it will not start within the city; but it will start “out in the fields” and then spread like a wild fire into the city.

I saw a triangle zone on a map that was showed to me in the vision. At the moment I did not recognize the locations, however later on when looking at a printed map I found that roughly as it was not exactly delimited Stockton, Oakland, and San Jose were the cities that formed the triangle. However, it seemed that the place of meeting did not belong to any of those cities in particular. It seemed to be an area with no buildings, far from urban areas. And I saw fire spreading all over the area and once it started it was impossible to have it stopped. The fire was spreading in waves of almost transparent heat. It simply spread like if there was gasoline on the floor. It looked like waves of transparent fire. However I did not see any smoke. The fire seemed to spread but it was not consuming the region. It reminded me of the fire that did not consume the bush. The fire went so big and “wild” that it went further out of the triangle to spread to the whole region.

I could not see anybody leading or preaching. It seemed to be something spontaneous. People just coming to a place from all around that area and joining other people in praising Jesus.

I believe that God is telling us that revival is coming in a very powerful way; however we must not expect it to happen in a “usual” way or through “regular” channels. No, this revival will be ushered in by the nobodies, the no-names, those who nobody can imagine, the most unlikely people; they will be the carries of this revival.

The fact that it happens in the open, speaks to us not of something done out of the church; but rather that it is too big and far more transcending than anything we have seen so far and it cannot be contained within walls. God will never do anything without His church, He has established His church and He is still building His church and whether we like it or not His church is the instrument He uses; however this revival is too great for one particular church or even for onr city to receive as it will affect entire regions regardless of affiliations or denominations.
